Technique for attaching weft hair extensions.
Comb and detangle the client’s hair until smooth.
Add a parting to the client’s hair.
Select the area of placement for the top hair extension using the end of a clean rattail comb, leaving enough of the client’s hair to cover the band of the weft extension. Take into consideration when selecting the top placement the client’s natural part and how far back this reaches. Some natural partings split beyond the crown area.
On the top of the head, take the top section of hair and secure with a hair clamp/claw.
Take a small amount of hair from the weft extension to be added to your braid.
Starting at either the right or left side of the head, leave a small section of hair (enough to cover and conceal the band of the weft). Take a small portion of hair from your client’s head, in the area where the end of the weft will sit, and wrap the piece of hair extension that you have taken from the weft. You will now have your three strands of hair to use for braiding.
With these three strands of hair, begin to braid the hair. Always keep your hand, fingers and attention close to the client’s head.

Step 3 - Measuring Cutting
Sew the cotton through both braids above the hair elastic until you are satisfied that there is enough cotton to support the hair if the hair elastic should defect from the hair. Although not mandatory, we suggest leaving the hair elastic in place at this point to avoid the braid becoming loose.
