Place nail varnish remover onto a cotton pad and wipe over each nail. Repeat again with clean cotton wool. The toenails are now free from grease and debris and are ready for polish.
Separate the toes using disposable toe separators.
Start with 1 application of base coat. Start on the big toe of the right foot beginning in the middle then down each side close to the nail wall. Take care to avoid the cuticle and nail wall. Repeat on other foot.
Apply 2 coats of colour polish. Start on the big toe of the right foot beginning in the middle then down each side close to the nail wall. Take care to avoid the cuticle and nail wall. Repeat on other foot.
If the colour leaks outside the nail, known as flooding, then remove the polish immediately with cotton wool soaked in nail polish remover and start again from base coat.
Apply top coat. Starting on the right foot, hold the client’s toes between your fingers and apply the top coat in 3 motions, beginning in the middle and stroking down each side of the nail plate. Repeat on both feet.
